Bushwood Jr Camps
Bushwood Golf Club has offered its own Jr golf camps for over 25 years with many alumni returning year after year. We tailor the camps for our alumni to ensure they are learnig and developing additional golf skills and grouped with other campers of their skill level. Our camps are recreational and are designed with your child's safety and enjoyment in mind. Our camps will offer your camper the opportunity to learn the golf swing, rules and etiquette, proper grip and stance and the game of golf. Golf is something you may play at any age and with your friends and family all through life. We encourage campers from the ages of 6-17 and of all skill levels. Our camps are co-ed. Our campers benefit from our camp having our own golf courses which allows the more advanced campers after their daily skill development to go on the course and play with a golf professional and receive on course instruction.
We offer the best faciity in the GTA for junior golf camps. We have an air conditioned portable for the sole enjoyment of our campers. We have our own Executive Course which is par 30 and enables the campers, golf pro's and counsellors to play anytime during the camp day without having to book tee times. It is the perfect course for campers of all ages and skill levels. We have both games and training aids available in the portable which enables our campers to continue to learn and have fun indoors if there is inclement weather. We encourage campers to come back with their friends and family to enjoy thier neighborhood club where they may visit the driving range, play the Executive Course, enjoy a delicious meal on our patio or in our caddyshack restaurant. We welcome campers to come to additonal camps during the summer and to register for some of our junior golf clinics and sign up for our junior golf league.
We have two CPGA golf pro's that are teaching our junior camps this year. Jelana Duncan is returning for her 6th year and will be teaching some of the camps. We have another CPGA pro that will be working with Jelana and he will be teaching most weeks of camp. They both have many years of experience of teaching both junior camps and jr golfers that are playing competitively and working with children. Our camps have counsellors to work with our golf pros and campers. These counsellors have prior working experience in our camps and some are alumin from our camps.
Please enrol early to avoid disappointment. Some weeks have sold out in prior years.
All aspects of the game are taught to our junior campers. They are taught the etiquette, and essential rules, the proper grip and stance and how to properly swing a club and not just "hitting" the ball. They are going to various stations; the practice putting green, short game practice area and the driving range. They will learn to play a game of golf on our Executive Course and will learn different games ; individual play, alterntate shot, and scramble. They will engage in friendly competition individually and in match play. More advanced golfers will be able to play on the Championship course with one of our golf professionals. These camps will give your child a good basic foundation for learning and enjoying golf, which is something you may play for a lifetime and with friends and family.
